Meet promptly at 10am.  

What to expect:

Start the day with an herb and mushroom walk in the field and forest to harvest herbs and mushrooms for our salve. Learn about the medicinal value plants have for our skin and how they have been utilized throughout the Catskills. 

We will return to our kitchen to infuse our oils, mix in wax, and pour our containers to take home. 

You'll receive discounts on Catskill Fungi products that will be available for purchase. 

Instructors:

Kitty and John (Catskill Fungi Founder) Michelotti, a sister and Brother Duo, have both been outdoor educators for many years.

Kitty has harnessed fields, forests, and farms as her classroom for 2 decades, teaching children and adults alike about animals and plants and the honorable harvest of both. Food is the best medicine, so she teaches how to utilize plants and animals for health through tinctures, teas, salves, bone broth, fire cider, preparing, and sharing community meals. 

Please dress for the weather. 

We will walk rain or shine. This means boots or sneakers.  Optional equipment includes a water bottle, bug/tick repellent, raincoat, or a snack. You are welcome to bring pictures of mushrooms you would like identified.

Bathrooms

There is one at the meeting location but not in the woods. 

Kids

Students under the age of 16 are free. 16 years old and above must purchase tickets.

If you need to cancel, please notify us via email. Email us at least 48 hours before the walk starts, and we will issue a refund.
