Join Adam Lavender and John Michelotti at Catskill Fungi, Saturday June 21st, for an immersive workshop where we will be learning how to make nutrients for our garden by partnering with fungi and other microbes that exist around our land. We will dive into natural farming techniques, biodynamics and gain hands-on experience, making products to apply on our crops to improve nutrient density and produce pest and disease resistant crops. You will go home with inspiration and confidence to take your gardens to the next level, and a sample of the solutions we create in the workshop.

What to expect:

We will start outside for a brief Fungi101 explanation as well as what to expect from our workshop. Through hands-on activities we will talk about the roles fungi and microbes play within soils and how that effects the forest and our gardens. We will talk about Natural Farming techniques and how they can help feed our plants and forests to encourage healthy growth in natural ways. We will create concoctions from natural materials that can be added to soil to boost calcium, iron, fungal colonies, and more. Each person will go home with multiple natural additives to help to strengthen against pathogens and boost soil, plant, and forest health. 

Please dress for the weather. The workshop is rain or shine.  Optional to bring a water bottle, bug/tick repellent, rain coat, or snacks. You are welcome to bring pictures of mushrooms you would like identified.

Kids

Willing and mature students are welcome. This is not suitable for children who need supervision.
