Left Bank Ciders

Join us at Left Bank Ciders in Catskill where John Michelotti, founder and mycologist of Catskill Fungi, will hold an open discussion and storytelling of the fungi that help our beloved apple trees from seed to cider. This entertaining overview will focus on the beloved Morel mushrooms and their associations with apple trees in the spring. Hear tales of successful morel hunts and the devastations of toxicity. We'll hear about microbes in soils and ways to cultivate fungi and mushrooms in gardens and orchards that support plant growth and regeneration. Let's explore how fungi digest sugars to create our favorite libations and explore the history of how our species co-evolved with fungi. Raise your glasses and cheers to the fermenting fungi.

This event is free and open to the public, with no tickets or reservations required.
Space is limited, so it is recommended you arrive early.
